Thai Grass-fed Beef Salad Recipe

Combining succulent New Zealand grass-fed beef with fresh and aromatic herbs, cherry tomatoes, and a hint of chili and honey, this salad brings the flavor – and a bit of heat.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb. New Zealand grass-fed flat iron steak (Tip: look for the Taste Pure Nature logo)
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
For the Dressing:
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 lemon, zested
- 2 teaspoons honey
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
For the Salad:
- 2 heads romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
- 1/2 cup Thai basil
- 1/2 cup fresh mint
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- Red and green chilis, sliced (optional)
Directions:
- 1. Let the steak come to room temperature for 10 minutes.
- 2. Drizzle the steak with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- 3. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat and cook steak for 3-4 minutes on each side, for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- 4. Remove from heat, cover with foil, and let rest for at least 5 minutes.
For the Dressing:
- 5. In a small bowl, combine the fish sauce, lemon zest, and honey. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
To Serve:
- 6. In a large serving bowl, combine the lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, Thai basil, mint and green onions.
- 7. Slice the steak across the grain and arrange on top of the salad.
- 8. Drizzle with dressing and garnish with the sliced chilis, if desired.
